I wanted to keep a little of the natural mountain jade roughness in this adze blade form. The rest of the blade is then “pebble” polished to encourage the stones inner strengths to rise, revealing the alignment of the grain and giving it a unique texture. There are two Paua shell inlays on the blade shoulders and the piece is finished with traditional Polynesian binding style.
