As well as a sculptor, I am also a carpenter/builder, and have found the process of building houses and furniture a great way to further understand engineering principles and integrity of design.
I can provide unique solutions for your space, in the garden or inside, for both commercial or residential projects. Tile/mosaic, concrete, stone, metal, wood...basically, whatever medium is suitable.
Please enjoy the wide variety of sculptures below:
This is a 4ft tall jade sculpture of a bird form rising from the earth. There are some beautiful markings on this stone, and areas of "rind" that I have assimilated into the overall design.
Release, is a
solid jade sculpture of a bird form (heronesque) that I used to
symbolize my own sentiments of life. A change of perspective, a
realizing my inner value system. What is important to me in life is not
always what our modern society is set up to accommodate. By listening
to my inner voice and pushing aside a few society's "secular demands" I
felt the universe expanding and a release of creative potential. A
freedom.
The stone itself has some great characteristics. The
obvious, whiter areas of the plume and the back of the body are where I
have left the "rind" showing. If the stone when in situ, has a surface
exposed oxidization will occur over hundreds or thousands of years.
This is like a very slow decomposition of the stone by the elements.
For effect, I chose to incorporate some of this into my art work.

Here are some custom mahogany cabinets (mahogany
plywood), with fir trim, built as toy and general storage, under the stairs in
a recently renovated downstairs suite. The pulls had not been chosen at the
time of this photograph
The easy to slide drawers are 29" deep for
maximum storage. There are 2 big shelves in the cupboard portion for even
larger items and two small shelves on the back of the door for the small "things"

Here is a great carpentry project. This custom oak table has
some very elegant lines to it and matches an existing set of tall chairs for a
patio dinning ensemble. The cream and brown granite inlay adds greatly to the
interest of this table.

A short video presentation
This project is a custom cabinet project.
The aim was for a large screen TV to be hidden by an artwork.
These two sculpted doors are crafted and in copper and mahogany.
The two (6min) videos on your right, are the creation of the sculptural project.
Thank you John for your trust and this great opportunity.
